Challenging, Caring, Committed

The Talmud Torah of St. Paul Day School is a K-8 program that provides academic excellence within an environment that is safe, caring, and accepting.  Small class sizes, a talented faculty, and a rigorous and creative curriculum of general and Jewish studies provide students with a strong foundation prepare students for living in a complex, changing world. Students develop analytical and critical thinking skills as they discover their role as modern American Jews who are part of the world community.

Our integrated curriculum weaves together subjects, breaking down barriers between disciplines to build a holistic world view.  It also fosters in-depth study and appreciation of other cultures. While our curriculum is designed to not only meet but exceed state standards, our students’ learning goes beyond retaining facts. We help them learn how to think as we integrate reading, writing, science, math, social studies, physical education, the arts, Hebrew, and Torah.  Through individual attention and an interactive, stimulating classroom, each child is able to reach his or her potential and highest level of personal achievement. They learn how to learn!

At the Day School, community is a living concept. Beginning on the first day of school with a welcoming program and service, this sense of community grows throughout the year. Students pair with other grades as reading partners, and end each week with a Kabbalat Shabbat program that brings the entire school together for song and celebration.  Parents take turns being greeters, standing at the entrance door welcoming children to school. Everyday, students are encouraged to be respectful of and learn from and with each other.

We also encourage our students to be responsible and successful contributors to our world in numerous ways. Each grade participates in a service learning/Chesed project (acts of kindness) that reach the larger community. The Talmud Torah of St. Paul Day School is open on Martin Luther King, Jr. Day and students participate in activities such as making food for homeless shelters and learning about civil rights.  Day School students form a partnership with students at Kidmat Kinneret, a school in Israel.

We invite you to take a closer look at our Lower School (K-4) and Upper School (5-8) programs and to learn the extraordinary benefits we can offer you and your child.
