Food Drive at The Newman School

Newman students are studying the mitzvah of ma'akhil re'evim (feeding the hungry) and the concept of tzedek and tzedakah. Helping those in need is one way we can perform this mitzvah. The students have a great start for their collection which they hope willgrow each week. They plan to donate the food to the Neighborhood House Food Shelf, and in the process, they will use skills such as sorting, counting, and exploring food groups. They will deliver their large donation in person on Martin Luther King Day.
