Using traditional and modern Jewish sources, we will explore images of an ideal relationship between doctors and patients. We will examine the hidden perspectives that we carry about those relationships and consider some approaches to creating more holistic ones.
Whether teaching, writing or practicing medicine, all of Dr. Jonathan Weinkle’s endeavors are driven by a strong commitment to infusing his interactions with patients with the core values of Judaism, beginning with the idea that both patient and provider are created in the Divine image and must act and be treated accordingly. He is the author of “Healing People, Not Patients: Creating Authentic Relationships in Modern Healthcare”.
