College-Level Beginning Hebrew I
Taught by Rabbi Yosi Gordon. (Mondays 6:00-8:00 pm AND Wednesdays 6:00-7:00 pm)

For beginners whose goal is post-biblical studies or modern Israeli Hebrew. Leads to speaking, listening comprehension, and reading/writing Hebrew. Emphasizes communication proficiency. Cultural materials are incorporated.

College-Level Beginning Hebrew II
Taught by Rabbi Yosi Gordon. (Tuesdays 4:15-5:45 pm AND Thursdays 4:15-5:45 pm)

For students whose goal is post-biblical studies or Modern Israeli Hebrew. Leads to speaking, listening comprehension, reading, and writing Hebrew with emphasis on communication proficiency. Cultural materials incorporated. Continuation of Beginning Hebrew I. Students enrolling in Beginning Hebrew II must have completed Beginning Hebrew I and received a passing grade, or have instructor approval.

College-Level Intermediate Hebrew I
Taught by Rabbi Yosi Gordon. (Dates and times to be determined)

Strengthens and extends proficiency in speaking, reading, writing, and comprehension of modern Hebrew. Read and discuss prose, poetry, news, and film. Taught primarily in Hebrew. Has a prerequisite of Beginning Hebrew II. Students enrolling in Intermediate Hebrew I must be juniors or seniors in high school and received a passing grade, or have instructor approval.

College-Level Intermediate Hebrew II
Taught by Dr. Arie Zmora. (Mondays 6:00-8:00 pm AND Wednesdays 6:00-7:00 pm)

Extensive reading of simplified modern Hebrew prose selections. Discuss poetry, newspaper, film, and TV in Hebrew. Israeli cultural experiences. Hone composition, listening comprehension, and speaking skills to prepare for proficiency exams. Taught in Hebrew. Continuation of Intermediate Hebrew I. Students enrolling in Intermediate Hebrew II must have completed Intermediate Hebrew I and received a passing grade, or have instructor approval.

College-Level Advanced Modern Hebrew
Taught by Dr. Arie Zmora. (Mondays 4:30-6:00 pm AND Wednesdays 4:30-6:00 pm)

Advanced studies in a variety of genres/media, including fiction, poetry, drama, film, and journal. Emphasizes expanded oral/written self-expression. Materials from several periods are used to prepare for future specialized study. Taught in Hebrew. Has a prerequisite of Intermediate Hebrew II. Students enrolling in Advanced Modern Hebrew must be juniors or seniors in high school and received a passing grade in Intermediate Hebrew II, or have instructor approval. Qualified ninth and tenth graders may apply to enroll with instructor approval. This course may be taken multiple times.
