What is a community Jewish Day School?

At the Newman School, we unite students from all Jewish and non-Jewish religious backgrounds in a learning community that is grounded in Jewish values and traditions.

We strive to instill in our students a lifelong love of learning (simchat limmudim) and prepare them to be informed, compassionate leaders that positively impact our world (tikkun olam).

What are the Newman School's hours?

Our school day runs from 8:30 am - 3:30 PM.

Do you offer Before and After School care?

We offer before-school and after-school care for the hours listed below.

Before School Care: 8:00 – 8:30 a.m.
No-Cost
After School Care: 3:30 – 5:30 p.m.
Hourly Rate

Space is limited in our after-school care program and is reserved on a first come first serve basis.

Are there non-Jewish students at the Newman School?

Yes! We welcome students from all religious backgrounds and affiliations. In the current school year, we have multiple non-Jewish families enrolled at the Newman School.

How many families receive tuition assistance?

Approximately half of the families currently enrolled in the Newman school are receiving some amount of tuition assistance for the 2021-2022 school year.

Is there a hot lunch program?

The Newman School offers a from-scratch, vegetarian (non-meat pareve) hot lunch 2 days a week, for a fee.

Do you require uniforms?

Newman School students do not wear uniforms.

We require all students to dress in school-appropriate clothing, free of any explicit language or imagery. Students participate in daily outdoor activities, weather permitting, so clothing should also be weather-appropriate.
